The U.S. has the potential to become the leading energy producer in the world by 2020, but some regulatory reforms are needed to achieve that goal, writes Chris Faulkner, founder, president and CEO of Breitling Oil and Gas. Limitations to hydraulic fracturing must be eased, and federal regulators need to open up more offshore sites to oil and natural gas drilling. The approval of TransCanada’s Keystone XL pipeline also plays a key role in that goal, Faulkner adds.
